but at long last they are presentable....

Maiden

My sewing machine is on the fritz!
I cleaned, and oiled it the other day and now
it won't work properly.
Thats what I get for being nice to it!!

Well I made the best of it, and worked on
my dolls hair. First I made her a wig (hand-sewn
and not by choice, lol)
She seems to me a young maiden with this do.







I also tried my hand at painting her hairI
can't seem to get the right highlighting?
Like I said, I'm a novice at this so I might have
to buy a book on oil painting-
A much more sophitsticated look tho don't you think?
It just amazes me what a difference hair styles can
make to the actual doll itself! Hmmm. Which do you
prefer?

The Bald and the beautiful......

Just started dabbling in oils for the first time ever! I think I like it, but it takes some getting use to that is for sure! The dry time is much longer for one thing, but thanks to some very smart gals, I am now clued in on how to change that for next time. Thanks sweeties,( you know who you are)

Now I just need to decide what type hair to do... Should it be simply painted on ? Or maybe adding some dimension with clay? Or even maybe some mohair? I 'd love your opinion if you wouldn't mind?

In a word... "Paradise" . That is how I would describe our vacation.
But like the saying goes "there is no place like home".
I have soooo much catching up to do and hope to talk to all soon!
